Caramel chex mix snack

You need to try this delicious caramel covered Chex mix. Not only is it a party in your mouth, but it is also very simple and easy to make. No need for Karo syrup! Just…

1 box Chex cereal
1/2 cup butter
1/4 cup honey
1 cup brown sugar (light or dark)
1/4 tsp baking soda
1 tsp vanilla
 parchment paper
M&Ms(optional)

First lay parchment paper on your cookie sheet trays . mine took 3. place Chex cereal in a bowl that has enough room to stir mix in. Set oven to 200*. In a sauce pan on medium heat melt the butter then add the honey and brown sugar. stirring till boiling, let simmer for 5 minutes. Stirring the whole time. Remove from heat and add vanilla and baking soda( it will double in size and look like foam. Don't worry you are doing it right. Great time to let kids watch you do this part kind off cool) Poor over Chex cereal and toss well until completely mixed. Divide into cookie sheets and spread them evenly. bake in oven for an hour. tossing every 20 minutes. when done let cool then enjoy. I like to mix in M&M's into ours at the end.
